  • Adult Appalachia Service Project:
    Our fall mission to Jonesville, Va., is scheduled for Oct. 23-25. Sign up online.   • Adventure Kids Training:
    This year's theme is ASCEND: the motion of moving upward while using specific tools to climb to greater heights.   • Financial Update:
    The financial results through May 2014 have been positive for our Family of Faith Communities. Giving has exceeded our budget by $58,008 and expenses spent so far are below budget by $144,184. The first five months of the year, the net result (giving minus expenses) has been better than we planned by $172,192. The finance committee monitors the results monthly. A detailed report can be viewed on page two of this week's Crosspoints.

  • Apex UMC Summer Hours:
    The church office will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays. These hours will run through Sept. 8.

  • Fiesta Cristiana Office Administrator:
    The Apex Family of Faith Communities is seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) office administrator to serve at our Fiesta Cristiana faith community. The ideal applicant is a mature Christian with a passion for hospitality and superior interpersonal, administrative and communication skills. Applicants must be bilingual (Spanish/English), possess a solid grasp of Microsoft Office products and Google apps, as well as the ability to maintain databases and update a website. Applicants should have a desire and ability to work as part of a team but also be a self-starter with the ability to take initiative. A minimum of one year of work experience in an office or similar environment is preferred.   • Jobs For Life Class in Apex this Fall:
    Open to anyone seeking employment or looking to improve their employment options. Centered on the Bible, the course covers lessons learned from the lives of characters such as Joseph, David and Ruth, the teachings of Jesus' parables, and examples of real world heroes. In addition, the class equips the students with core work readiness skills. Along with the training, every JfL student has a JfL champion - a mentor or a group of mentors - who provides the student support both during the training and once the student is employed. Hosted by Western Wake Crisis Ministry, the next Jobs for Life class will be on Mondays and Wednesdays, Sept. 29-Nov. 19, from 6-7:30 p.m. in DC 403.
