- Lent 2014
Lent will start on Ash Wednesday, Mar. 5, and will end on Easter, Apr. 20. This year, while there are several facets to our Lenten season, we stand united that our best days are ahead of us and we must ready ourselves so we can all participate in God’s plan to transform the world.
- Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper:
Come enjoy a great dinner prepared by the UMM in the CLC on Tuesday, Mar. 4, from 5-7 p.m., as we get ready to begin the season of Lent. All receipts will go to the pastor's discretionary fund.
- Ash Wednesday Services:
Join us in the sanctuary on Wednesday, Mar. 5, at 7 a.m., 11:30 a.m. or 7 p.m.
- We’re Springing Forward this Weekend!
Daylight Savings Time begins this weekend! Don’t forget to set your clocks forward one hour on Saturday before you go to bed—we don’t want you to miss worship on Sunday!
- Habitat House Dedication:
Please join us on Sunday, Mar. 9, at 3:30 p.m. for the dedication of the Habitat house sponsored by the AUMC Family of Faith Communities during the Our Family Helping Families project. The house is located at 312 Ada Street. All are welcome. If you have any questions, please contact Jack Rosko at
- Prom Shoppe Volunteers:
This year’s Prom Shoppe will be held on Friday, Mar. 28, from 2:30-8 p.m. in the CLC. High School and adult volunteers are needed to help with all facets of the Prom Shoppe including set-up on Thursday, Mar. 27, and the actual Prom Shoppe on Friday, Mar. 28. We anticipate we will serve more than 500 girls this year, and need more than 50 volunteers for each shift. It is a wonderful opportunity to put your faith into action—and see immediate results! If you have questions or to sign up, please contact Jann Bridgers at
or Pat Evans at
- Cover-to-Cover Bible Reading Challenge:
For Lent, we want your help to read, out loud, the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation. If read at a normal speaking pace, it takes approximately 72 hours to read the Bible from cover to cover. We plan to organize this reading into 144, 30-minute assignments to be read aloud from the sanctuary pulpit every night, beginning at 6:30 p.m., between Ash Wednesday and Easter Sunday. Most nights will have 90 minutes of reading while the last nine will have 120 minutes of reading. Please sign up online. For questions or suggestions, please contact Heath Williamson at
- 2014 Vacation Bible School:
Registration for children and volunteers is now open on Feb. 10. We will offer a week at the Peak, Jun. 22-26 from 6-8 p.m., and at Apex, Aug. 3-7 (6-8 p.m.) and Aug. 4-8 (9:30 a.m.-12 p.m.).
