  • A Disciple’s Path:
    Join the Shepherd’s Sunday School class for this study, which combines a Wesleyan understanding of our growth in God’s love and grace with time-tested practices of spiritual discipline.   • Church Office Hours:
    On Aug. 26, the office will be open from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. On Aug. 27 and 28, hours will be 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 29, it will be open from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. The church office will be closed on Monday, Sept. 1 in observance of Labor Day, then open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 2-5.
  • Last Wednesday Worship Service:
    This Wednesday, Aug. 27, is the last Wednesday worship service.
  • Saturday Worship:
    On Saturday, Aug. 30, our 5:30 worship service will be in DC 400.
  • UMM Breakfast:
    The monthly United Methodist Men’s fellowship breakfast is moving to the first Saturday monthly at 8 a.m. in the CLC. We will add some new, healthier items to the menu and feature a variety of activities/speakers. In at 8:00, out by 9:00. Good food, connect with great guys, plenty of Saturday left.
  • Fall Kickoff:
    Join us for fall kickoff on Sunday, Sept. 7! We will worship at 10:00—one contemporary service and one traditional service. After worship, come outside for our treasure hunt and get AUMC giveaways (fans, grocery bags, pens, car magnets and more)! Big Mike’s BBQ and Deli-Icious Food Trucks will be on hand, and the youth will serve hot dogs for the kids. Stick around for games, music and cornhole, learn how to get plugged in this fall, and enjoy some dessert from Kona Ice! Food is expected to cost between $5 and $7 per person. We will also have Apex UMC t-shirts available for $10 and new, stainless-steel Apex UMC travel mugs for $15. We look forward to seeing you there!
  • Children’s Choirs:
    Starting Sunday, Sept. 7, children’s choirs rehearse on Sunday from 4-4:45 p.m. Children (grades K-5) learn valuable songs of the faith, develop singing skills to last a lifetime and lead worship throughout the year.   • Children’s Handbells:
    Starting Sunday, Sept. 7, children’s handbells rehearse on Sundays from 5-5:45 p.m. Children (grades 3-5) learn the art of handbell ringing and participate in worship throughout the year.   • Join Cub Scout Pack 226:

  • Neighbors Helping Neighbors Benefit Golf Tournament:
    This tournament, which benefits Western Wake Crisis Ministry, will be Monday, Sept. 15, at 11 a.m. at MacGregor Downs Country Club. Registration includes 18 holes of golf, breakfast, lunch, awards dinner, snacks and drinks on cart. Visit wwcm.org to learn more and to register.
  • Fairway District Lay Servant Ministry Training:
    The Lay Servant Ministries programs of education and certification seek to provide training for, and build connection among, lay persons who are actively pursuing this universal call to ministry.   • Jobs For Life Class:
    Open to anyone seeking employment or looking to improve their employment options. Centered on the Bible, the course covers lessons learned from the lives of Joseph, David and Ruth, the teachings of Jesus' parables, and examples of real-world heroes. Every JfL student has a mentor who provides support during training and once the student is employed. Hosted by Western Wake Crisis Ministry, the JfL class will be on Mondays and Wednesdays, Sept. 29-Nov. 19, from 6-7:30 p.m. in DC 403. Submit applications to Western Wake Crisis Ministry by Sept. 15.
  • Neighbors Helping Neighbors Concert:
    Bring a chair and come out to hear the Peak City Blues Project at this annual charity concert, hosted by The Peak and benefitting Western Wake Crisis Ministry. We hope to see you on Friday, Oct. 3, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the Apex Depot. Concessions will be available.

  • Hops & Hymns (& Pizza!):
    Bring the whole family for food, fellowship and singing! Enjoy the beverage of your choice and sing your heart out while learning about the history and meaning behind our hymns.   • Disaster Response Team:
    Aid the local congregation in a disaster-stricken area in recruiting volunteers, assist with the emotional and spiritual needs of the victims, and assist in the clean-up and rebuilding stage. Join us for a training class on Oct. 18; it is an 8-hour class taught in one day. Registration is $30; includes materials and lunch.
